Football Recap: Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama Comes Up Short

After flying high against Griffith Institute last Saturday, Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama came back down to earth. The Wolfpack fell 27-14 to the Southwestern Trojans on Friday. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sawyer Whitney rushed for 129 yards and one TD. The Wolfpack also got help from Kameron Einink, who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.

Bradyn Fuller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southwestern, rushing for 204 yards and three scores while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Fuller is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 117 every time he's taken the field this season.

Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Southwestern, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama is taking a road trip to challenge Portville/Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolfpack will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Southwestern, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove at 7:00 p.m.
