Polytechnic extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Areni Ohanian. The Polytechnic Panthers managed a 53-47 victory over the Mayfield Cubs on Thursday thanks in part to Ohanian, who posted 15 points along with eight boards and seven assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Polytechnic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Mayfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Polytechnic and Rancho Buena Vista will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mayfield, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rio Hondo Prep at 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
