Baseball Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. Sweetwater Red Devils

Castle Park is 2-8 against Sweetwater since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trojans will welcome the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, Castle Park needed a bit of extra time to put away Southwest SD. They had just enough and edged out the Raiders 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sweetwater, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let Southwest SD get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Wednesday.

Jason Elliot was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Cobry Ortiz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Sweetwater's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Castle Park, their win bumped their record up to 11-15.
