Baseball Recap: Peoples Baptist Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Peoples Baptist Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Trinity Prep on Saturday. Peoples Baptist Academy was the clear victor by a 17-4 margin over Trinity Prep. The game marked the Knights' most dominant win of the season.

Brayden Sweatman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Sweatman was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Osteen and Josues Ruiz did most of the damage at the plate: Osteen scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Ruiz scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Aaron Cramer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Peoples Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Prep only posted an OBP of .423.

With the victory, Peoples Baptist Academy broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Trinity Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoples Baptist Academy will face off against Skipstone Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Peoples Baptist Academy is facing Skipstone Academy at the right time seeing as Skipstone Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Trinity Prep, they will square off against Scholars Guild Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
