Soccer Game Preview: Folsom vs. St. Francis

The Folsom Bulldogs will take on the St. Francis Troubadours at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Folsom's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Folsom's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Davis Sr. 1-0. The Bulldogs wouldn't have won without Sofia Roberts, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for St. Francis after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Rocklin by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Troubadours can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Thunder are ranked eighth).

Folsom's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-3. As for St. Francis, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-3.
