Burroughs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They blew past the Burbank Bulldogs 71-27. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burroughs' victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points per game. As for Burbank, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11.
