Softball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short

Polk County was the 18-7 winner over Ord when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Slammers fell just short of the Chanticleers by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. The Slammers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olive Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyenne Krol, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Polk County's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Ord, their record now sits at 4-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polk County will square off against Kearney Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ord, they will face off against Highway 6 at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
