Council Grove won the last time they faced Cair Paravel and things went their way on Friday too. The Braves blew past the Lions 39-7. The Braves pushed the score to 32-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

Council Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grady Kepley, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 91 receiving yards gave Kepley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reid Buttrey, who threw for 215 yards and three TDs.

The win (which was Council Grove's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.3 points this season. As for Cair Paravel, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Council Grove will venture away from home to face off against Riley County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cair Paravel, they will host Mission Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
