Softball Recap: Regis Jesuit Wins Going Away Against Smoky Hill

Regis Jesuit had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-5 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes. That looming 13-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

Regis Jesuit let Caitlin Fairchild and Alexis Colvin run wild. Fairchild went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Colvin went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Colvin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Canedy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Regis Jesuit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Smoky Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Smoky Hill's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nikiah Light, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Regis Jesuit will welcome Ponderosa at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Raiders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Smoky Hill, they will square off against Rangeview at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
