Baseball Recap: Toll Gate's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Toll Gate can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Prout Crusaders with a sharp 13-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-1 back in April.

Edward Rosario and Braeden Geer made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Rosario struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Geer pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Toll Gate is 2-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-12 otherwise. At the plate, Rosario went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Geer got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases and five runs. Those five runs gave Geer a new career-high.

In other batting news, Toll Gate got a massive performance out of Brady Fales, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Fales a new career-high. Luke Goodine also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Toll Gate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Toll Gate's record is now 6-12-1. As for Prout, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
