Football Recap: Spring Valley Comes Up Short

Spring Valley came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 41-9 defeat at the hands of the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 41-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Spring Valley dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lower Richland, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will head out to square off against Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lower Richland, they will venture away from home to challenge Colleton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
