Softball Recap: North Murray's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but North Murray unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Coahulla Creek Colts by a score of 3-2. The Mountaineers were not able to make up for their loss to the Colts from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Chanley Langham was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lily Beavers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

North Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Coahulla Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

North Murray will welcome Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coahulla Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Murray County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
