Soccer Game Preview: Dublin vs. Hawkinsville

The Dublin Fighting Irish will kick their season off against the Hawkinsville Red Devils on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled at 5:30 p.m.

After dropping their season opener at home, Dublin is headed out to face a Hawkinsville team ready to give their home crowd a win. Hawkinsville lost 5-0 to Bleckley County on Tuesday. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Red Devils it sure didn't stay that way.

Their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Dublin, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished 4-10.

Dublin beat Hawkinsville by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dublin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
