Basketball Recap: Norte Vista Comes Up Short

Norte Vista lost against Ramona on January 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Norte Vista Braves were beaten by the Ramona Rams 51-16. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1254th, while the Rams are ranked 339th).

Ramona's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaiden Tibbels, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. That's the most steals Tibbels has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Molina, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Norte Vista has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season. As for Ramona, they pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norte Vista will square off against Rubidoux at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ramona, they will take on Jurupa Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramona is facing Jurupa Valley at the right time seeing as Jurupa Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
