The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans will challenge The King's Academy Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Scholars Guild Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Skipstone Academy.
Will Pittman and Ty Newton were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Pittman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Newton pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Pittman scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Newton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Scholars Guild Academy is undefeated when Pittman posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.

Meanwhile, The King's Academy got the win against St. Francis on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-3. Considering The King's Academy has won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Davis Windham made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Jimmy Anderson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Russell Seney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Scholars Guild Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for The King's Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4.
