Meanwhile, Natick faced Walpole in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Redhawks fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 3-2.

Wellesley's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Natick, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4-1.
