Football Recap: South Granville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past + How To Watch

South Granville had lost three straight headed into Friday's game, but Jaylen Wilkerson didn't let it get to four. The Vikings really took it to the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-0 win for which the team can thank Wilkerson, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Hailey-Alston, who rushed for 82 yards and one score on only eight carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making three total tackles.

One reason for the win was South Granville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Tyrell Thornton and Timmy Stubbs also recorded half a sack).

South Granville's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Cedar Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

South Granville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 48-0 win against Carrboro on the 10th. As for Cedar Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-6 defeat against Seaforth on the 10th.
