            Basketball Recap: Hayfork Timberjacks vs. Tulelake Honkers        
        
		
        
        
            Hayfork had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with  a   52-39  win over the Tulelake Honkers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  47-29  back in December of 2024.

 Hayfork's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Lydia Yarbrough, who  posted 13  points in addition to seven  boards and seven  steals. Yarbrough has been hot, having  posted four or more  steals the last seven times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Riley Bayley, who  had 17 points.
  Makenzie Perez and  Alejandra Perez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss.  Makenzie  went 7 of 15  on her way to 17 points and five  steals, while  Alejandra  went 5 of 11  on her way to 11  points in addition to seven  boards and seven  blocks. That's the most  blocks  Alejandra has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Josefina Mojica, who  put up two points and seven  boards.
Hayfork has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Tulelake, their  defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-9.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayfork will venture away from home to  square off against South Fork  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Tulelake, they will head out to  take on Big Valley  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Tulelake is facing Big Valley at the right time seeing as Big Valley is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
