Basketball Recap: Bassett Olympians vs. Workman Lobos
Bassett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 57-11 loss at the hands of the Workman Lobos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Olympians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-8 back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Workman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hilary Lomeli, who went 9 of 19 en route to 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Lomeli has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Iris Campos was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Bassett's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Workman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-10.
Bassett has already played their next contest (against La Puente), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Workman will be playing in front of their home fans against SEED: LA at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Workman's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while SEED: LA has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
