Soccer Game Preview: Cabrillo vs. Pioneer Valley

The Cabrillo Conquistadores will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneer Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cabrillo's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Cabrillo came up short against Lompoc and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Conquistadores have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Pioneer Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Ynez on Friday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Pioneer Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-7-2. As for Cabrillo, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Cabrillo skirted past Pioneer Valley 1-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cabrillo since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
