Softball Recap: Caney Drops Season-High Score on Pittsburg + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Caney). They put the hurt on the Pittsburg Panthers with a sharp 18-6 victory on Monday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Caney's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Pittsburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Caney will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Quinton at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Pittsburg, they have already played their next contest, an 11-2 loss against Earlsboro on the 9th.
