Soccer Recap: San Marcos Takes a Loss

San Marcos's game on Sunday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Palos Verdes Sea Kings by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Sea Kings are ranked sixth).

San Marcos' defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-1. As for Palos Verdes, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

San Marcos will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calabasas at 4:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Palos Verdes also won't see the pitch for a while: their next contest is against Mira Costa on January 7, 2025.
