Softball Recap: Bethel Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Bethel barely beat Tecumseh the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Savages with a sharp 9-3 win on Tuesday. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilly Ingmire made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Bethel let Bailey Tucker and Kinley Bowles run wild. Tucker went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Bowles went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Bowles has posted since back in August. Layla Menhusen was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bethel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bethel has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Tecumseh, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel will challenge Purcell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tecumseh, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Byng at 5:00 p.m.
