Soccer Game Preview: Flintridge Prep vs. Maranatha

The Flintridge Prep Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Maranatha Minutemen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Flintridge Prep will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Flintridge Prep beats Maranatha with three goals on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Wolves walked away with a 3-1 win over Chadwick on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Flintridge Prep's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Chadwick are ranked 626th).

Flintridge Prep hit Chadwick with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Anjuli Rao, Julia Krause, and Gianna Simonian.

Meanwhile, Maranatha sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Village Christian on Tuesday.

Maranatha picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-9-1. As for Flintridge Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-3.

Flintridge Prep got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in December of 2015 against Maranatha by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will Wolves repeat their success, or do the Minutemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
