Recap: Kimball Jaguars vs. Heritage Patriots
The Kimball Jaguars suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 73-35 loss at the hands of Heritage. While losing is never fun, Kimball can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Heritage is ranked 130th).
Kimball's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Coronado, who scored eight points. Sierra Tuliau was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Ze'ni Patterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Heritage, scoring 17 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Mcclure, who scored 12 points.
Kimball dropped their record down to 12-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kimball on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Heritage, Heritage and Liberty will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
