Softball Recap: Lithonia Bulldogs vs. Druid Hills Red Devils
Lithonia extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-15. They lost 13-0 to the Druid Hills Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 two weeks ago.
As for Druid Hills, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. Considering they have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Druid Hills' part, De'Shauna Riddick was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Riddick was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Druid Hills let Erika Carranza and Maya Roesch run wild. Carranza went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Roesch went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Srubas, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Lithonia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-0 loss against Douglass on the 24th. As for Druid Hills, they will square off against St. Pius X Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
