Chesterton had already won 15 in a row and they went ahead and made it 16 on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Merrillville Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

One reason for the win was Chesterton's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-14.

Luca Bombacino paced Chesterton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bombacino got some help from Abigail Parrish and her 21 assists. Delaney Barrett controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Chesterton's victory bumped their record up to 28-3. As for Merrillville, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-22.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chesterton will take on rival Valparaiso at 11:00 a.m. on the 18th. Meanwhile, Merrillville is set to challenge their familiar foe Portage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
