Soccer Game Preview: East Coweta vs. Douglas County

The East Coweta Indians will face off against the Douglas County Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was East Coweta who was credited with the win on Friday. East Coweta got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Chapel Hill's two.

Douglas County will head out to face East Coweta after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Douglas County came up short against Carrollton, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Trojans are ranked 25th).

Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for East Coweta, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

East Coweta came out on top in a nail-biter against Douglas County in their previous meeting back in March of 2016, sneaking past 2-1. Does East Coweta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Douglas County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
