Basketball Game Preview: Mercer Mustangs vs. Sharpsville Blue Devils

The Mercer Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Sharpsville Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sharpsville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mercer, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Mercer earned a 49-42 victory over Reynolds. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Sharpsville lost to Lakeview on the road by a 52-38 margin on Monday.

Sharpsville has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Mercer, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.

Mercer came up short against Sharpsville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 50-43. Can Mercer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
