Basketball Recap: Cochranton Piles Up the Points Against Youngsville

Cochranton won against Saegertown last Monday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Cochranton Cardinals breezed past the Youngsville Eagles to the tune of 55-4. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.

Eve Pfeiffer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points and six rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 62% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marley Rodax, who posted nine points and four steals.

Cochranton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 20 consecutive games.

Cochranton pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.2 points over those games. As for Youngsville, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

As of now, neither Cochranton nor Youngsville have any future games scheduled.
