They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the James River Knights. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly two runs.
Calvin Lancaster and Zach Holt did most of the damage at the plate: Lancaster went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Holt went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Holt a new career-high.
Patrick County's record now sits at 10-6. As for James River, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.
