Baseball Recap: Grossmont's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grossmont had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Poway Titans. This was a revenge game for the Foothillers: when they faced off against the Titans back in April, they had to take a 15-14 defeat.

Jesse McCormick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Grossmont is 6-3 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trey Crawford, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Nathan Clark was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Grossmont moved to 12-17 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Poway, the loss snapped their winning streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 19-10 record.

Looking ahead, Grossmont is taking a road trip to challenge Santa Fe Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
