Softball Recap: Cor Jesu Academy Has No Trouble Against St. Joseph's Academy

Cor Jesu Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt St. Joseph's Academy on Thursday. The Chargers put the hurt on the Angels with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Angels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Cor Jesu Academy got a big performance out of Beau Belz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Belz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Overbey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cor Jesu Academy's record now sits at 10-5. As for St. Joseph's Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.

Coming up, Cor Jesu Academy will be playing at home against Lindbergh at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they will square off against Hazelwood West at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Angels will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
