Soccer Game Preview: Carson vs. Narbonne

The Carson Colts will head out to take on the Narbonne Gauchos at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Carson's offense. They came up short against San Pedro on Friday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1001st, while San Pedro are ranked 232nd).

Meanwhile, Narbonne came up short against Rancho Dominguez on Friday and fell 4-2.

Shelsy Martin-Rizo and Estrella Villatoro scored both of the Gauchos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Narbonne's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14-1.

Carson beat Narbonne by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, winning 2-1. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Gauchos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
