Baseball Game Preview: Franklin County Seahawks vs. Munroe Bobcats

Franklin County has gone 8-1 against Munroe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Seahawks will venture away from home to square off against the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. Franklin County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Munroe will come in with three straight wins.

On Monday, Franklin County didn't have quite enough to beat Brookstone and fell 8-7.

Sadiq Jones and Jeremiah Allen did some serious damage despite the final result: Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Allen went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Allen is becoming a predictor of Franklin County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't). Blanton Adair also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Munroe played against Godby on Friday and won via forfeit.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Munroe, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Franklin County got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February against Munroe by a conclusive 18-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seahawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
