Newton fell victim to Salina Central and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 42-0. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Mustangs are ranked 40th).

Cooper Reves continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Salina Central, rushing for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 83 receiving yards and one TD.
