Softball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Glenpool's Winning Streak

Glenpool dropped down to 15-10 on Thursday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Kiefer Trojans by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since September 6th.

As for Kiefer, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Kiefer's part, Caley Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. Smith has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maleigha Presley and Kynlee DiLibero did most of the damage at the plate: Presley went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while DiLibero went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Triniti Roskydoll, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Glenpool will be playing at home against Sapulpa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kiefer, they will venture away from home to square off against Beggs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
