Basketball Game Preview: Stockdale Mustangs vs. Lompoc Braves

The Stockdale Mustangs and the Lompoc Braves will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stockdale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 49-44 W over West last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Lompoc strolled past Santa Maria with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 42-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.

Stockdale better focus on containing Tiana Terrones and Bella Barbosa as the pair were huge in Lompoc's win. Terrones posted 11 points, while Barbosa put up eight points and three steals. Tara Terrones was another key player, putting up four points along with five assists and five boards.

Lompoc smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Stockdale's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Lompoc, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
