Basketball Recap: Derry Comes Up Short

Derry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 46-18 loss at the hands of the Knoch Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-26 on January 5th.

Kylie Metcalf was Derry's leading scorer, having posted six points. Metcalf also led the team in rebounds with six. Trinity Miller took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Derry's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Knoch, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-15.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Derry is set to take on their familiar foe Oakland Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Knoch will square off against rival North Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
