Softball Recap: Luella Takes a Loss

If Luella was riding high fresh off their 22-5 takedown of Mt. Zion on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell 9-4 to the Newton Rams on Wednesday.

Kennedy Reliford made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayleen Montoya, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Luella's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Newton, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Luella will head out on the road to take on Stone Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newton, they will welcome Rockdale County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
