Baseball Recap: Scituate Victorious

Scituate was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Juanita Sanchez Complex Cavaliers 10-9. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Scituate got a great performance from Matt Johnson as he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Johnson has posted since back in April.

At the plate, Scituate let Drake Dumont and Aiden Ouillette run wild. Dumont went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Ouillette went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Dumont is becoming a predictor of Scituate's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Tyler North, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Scituate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Juanita Sanchez Complex only posted a batting average of .258.

Scituate's record now sits at 13-5. As for Juanita Sanchez Complex, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
