Alexander Central had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-5 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the McDowell Titans 30-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2021.

Alexander Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaquis Parks, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only six carries. Parks also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble, making eight total tackles (0.5 for loss), and defending one pass. Sawyer Chapman-Mays was in the mix as well, providing Alexander Central with two scores.
