Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Comes Up Short

Ridgeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gilmer Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Thursday.

Bryson Duke was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dallas Bilbrey, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Ridgeland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Gilmer, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gilmer beat Ridgeland by a score of 6-0 later that day.
