Basketball Game Preview: Estes Park Bobcats vs. Heritage Christian Eagles

The Estes Park Bobcats will challenge the Heritage Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Estes Park is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Denver Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Estes Park blew Denver Academy out of the water with a 71-33 final score. With the Bobcats ahead 44-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Heritage Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past Front Range Christian, posting a 77-44 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Falcons are ranked 241st), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage Christian pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points over those games. As for Estes Park, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Estes Park was able to grind out a solid win over Heritage Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2021, winning 66-58. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Heritage Christian's Samuel Lundy, who went 8-for-17 en route to 20 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Estes Park to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
