Baseball Recap: Morristown Comes Up Short

If Morristown was riding high fresh off their 13-7 takedown of Waldron on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets lost 15-8 to the Mohawks on Friday. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mohawks earlier this season, when they won 13-7.

Mason Bentley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Russ Kleine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Morristown now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Waldron, the victory snapped their losing streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 7-13 record.

Looking ahead, Morristown will face off against Hauser at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Jets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Waldron, they will square off against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Irvington Preparatory Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.19 runs per game on average), something Waldron will no doubt try to take advantage of.
