Baseball Recap: San Marino Takes a Loss

San Marino and Saugus squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but San Marino had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Titans, who until this contest were averaging 4.03 runs allowed.

Charlie Danenhauer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Parker Wilson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

San Marino's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Saugus, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-14.

San Marino does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saugus, they will face off against Rio Mesa at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Centurions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
