Basketball Recap: Mira Loma Comes Up Short

Mira Loma played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the El Camino Eagles, falling 48-16. The Matadors have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

El Camino found their leader in sophomore Calista Wold, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Wold a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was Taylor Stake, who posted nine points and three steals.

Mira Loma's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for El Camino, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Loma will host Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mira Loma is facing Johnson at the right time seeing as Johnson is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for El Camino, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Rio Americano at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
