Softball Game Preview: Gilmer Bobcats vs. Union County Panthers

Gilmer is 1-6 against Union County since August of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bobcats will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Gilmer is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Saturday. They never let Lumpkin County get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Not much got past Braley Stewart, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Lumpkin County off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily Fortune, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Union County duked it out with Rabun County on Saturday. The Panthers skirted past the Wildcats 3-1.
