Basketball Recap: Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Classical Academy lost against Santa Fe Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Classical Academy Caimans took a hard 62-44 fall against the Santa Fe Christian Eagles.

Santa Fe Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jennifer Stanion out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Stanion a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Ava Robbins was another key player, going 5 for 12 to rack up 15 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Santa Fe Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-14.

Coming up, Classical Academy will head out on the road to take on Escondido Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Escondido Charter will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Classical Academy surely won't give up without a fight. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Tri-City Christian's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Santa Fe Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
