Basketball Recap: Granite Bay Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Granite Bay ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bella Vista Broncos, sneaking past 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Grizzlies have posted since December 5, 2023.

Alli Powell went supernova for Granite Bay, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Powell has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hallie Tapuosi, who had five points along with 11 boards and seven steals.

Despite the defeat, Bella Vista had strong showings from Mackenzie Dean, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds, and Eva Jensen, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 boards.

Granite Bay's victory bumped their record up to 9-17. As for Bella Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Granite Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-32 loss against Whitney on the 11th. As for Bella Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 87-27 defeat against Woodcreek on the 11th.
